“Know all the theories, master all the techniques, but as you touch a human soul, be just another human soul.” - Carl Jung
Hi! My name is Yasmine Dunn, and I am a Clinical Intern at Healing Pathways of Houston. You may be wondering if therapy is the right fit for you right now. Many of the individuals I work with come in feeling emotionally exhausted, overwhelmed by anxiety or depression, navigating life transitions, or feeling disconnected from themselves outside of their roles and responsibilities. Often, they are the ones who show up for everyone else, until it becomes too much. If this resonates with you, you’re not alone.
Therapy isn’t about “fixing” who you are, it’s about creating space to reconnect with yourself, build awareness, and develop boundaries that feel authentic and sustainable. Together, we can work toward helping you feel more grounded, understood, and aligned with what truly matters to you.
My approach to counseling is rooted in existential and humanistic modalities, while also integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns. I incorporate mindfulness practices and emphasize cultural competence, honoring each client’s unique cultural background and lived experience. I value each person’s lived experience, and I strive to honor how these shape identity, relationships, and meaning-making. I view therapy as a collaborative space where we can explore your thoughts, emotions, and patterns with curiosity and compassion.
I have experience working with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults, and I aim to create a supportive, judgment-free environment where you feel safe expressing yourself openly. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, or major life transitions, our work together will be guided by reflection, authenticity, and a deep respect for your story.
I am currently a student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Sam Houston State University, where I also earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I am passionate about connecting with others and feel grateful to be part of the counseling field.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, cooking, and spending time with my husband and family!
Please feel free to schedule a free 15 minute consultation with me or for a full initial appointment. I look forward to speaking with you soon!
