I believe that therapy offers a beneficial way to find a different perspective on difficult situations and that people who make the decision to see a therapist is looking for a way to improve those situations. We can always learn new ways to make our lives and relationships better. With empathy and compassion, I help individuals find resolution to a wide range of personal concerns and psychological issues. I have worked at psychiatric hospitals, addiction residential facilities, as well as outpatient settings and, have over 25 years of experience working with clients from a family systems approach.

I assist clients in finding solutions that fit them and don’t impose my views on clients. I believe that my job as a therapist is to offer a positive and non-judgmental attitude to help clients learn the value of having self-compassion, which can then lead to change and growth.

Psychologist Carl Rogers said, “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I change." I'll help you learn ways to access the underlying emotions and beliefs that may be blocking your growth and to gain a deeper understanding of what drives you so that you can achieve a happier, healthier life.

Life doesn’t have to be such a struggle. Help is available. What feels impossible to do alone, can be manageable with that help. Even superheroes have support.

I have a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Houston Clear Lake and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston, Main Campus. I have been a therapist for over 25 years and worked overseas as well as in Houston. Living and working in New Zealand for 10 years has given me the experience of working with other cultures and learning to see life from other perspectives that go beyond what I learned in graduate school. This is a view of life that I bring to all clients I work with now.
