Hi! My name is Mallory Striesfeld, and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor - Supervisor (#73192), a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist - Associate (#202439), and the owner of Healing Pathways of Houston.  I am under the supervision of H. Barry McCarty, M.S., LMFT-S, LPC-S to complete my LMFT license.

I tend to find myself creating social media graphics to help others like you, your child/teenager, family member, or friend.  I do this by combining pop culture with mental health and relating them together.  With advanced training in play therapy and child-parent relationship training, I am able to discover new ways to engage and help others within and outside of the therapy context -- such as with social media graphics.

I love working with children and teens, especially with self-esteem concerns, coping skills, and self-harm struggles.  I also have a passion for working with families struggling with chronic illness, grief, conflict, and relationship struggles.  With that being said, I am constantly learning and researching new ways to help you.  Whether it’s through reading, attending trainings, keeping up with the latest research, or offering supervision to students currently in graduate school, I am dedicated to ensuring that your mental health needs are seen, heard, and respected.

When I’m not in session, you will find me spending time with my 3 cats.  All of them happen to be rescue pets that I meant to foster and ended up adopting.  OOPS!  Since we are in the age of video and phone sessions right now, they enjoy walking across sessions quite often and offering you support, too!  In other words, Stark, Logan, and Hannah are our bonus support animals! I personally struggle with Type I Diabetes and Endometriosis, so I tend to relate with the challenges of having chronic illness/pain, the emotions that come with it, and for our family members/loved ones who journey alongside us. This is a large part of me, yet it does not define me. I also serve as a lecturer and public speaker.

Since being featured on Channel 2 KPRC, The Roula and Ryan Morning Show on 104.1 KRBE, JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), and Houston Matters with Craig Cohen to name a few, I very much enjoy sharing knowledge and expertise of mental health, chronic illness, emotions, children, play therapy, and parenting across a wide variety of settings and virtually. I’d love to have the opportunity to speak with you and your team as well. Contact us for more information about professional speaking engagements. We would love to connect!

Wow! I find that I really don’t like talking about myself this much. I promise it’s only in reference to how I can help each of you along each stage of your healing journey. On that note, another passion of mine is supervision for future mental health professionals. I am officially a board approved Supervisor for counselors pursuing their Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) license within the state of Texas. As an LPC-S, I commit wholeheartedly to your professional growth process. I also supervise Master’s level clinical interns currently enrolled in graduate school programs. We have worked with Sam Houston State University, NYU, University of Houston, and University of Houston - Clear Lake & Victoria campuses and look forward to expanding our list of partnering universities.
