I believe life’s problems exist from factors that are in one’s control and beyond which impact how we view ourselves, others, and the world. As a result of this perspective, I work with not just individuals but also families and couples to assist them in increasing their understanding and support in overcoming challenges. I have a passion for helping adults and adolescents who are living with one or more following issues: depression, stress, anxiety, bipolar disorder, conflict, women’s issues, OCD, PTSD, and ADHD.

My primary focus is creating a safe and nonjudgmental environment to process problems and create solutions while tuning in to individual’s strengths, resiliency, and direction for positive change. Through working together, I hope to increase awareness and acceptance of one as a survivor who is overcoming obstacles while creating a brighter future.

My approach to therapy has been influenced by multiple evidence-based and practice-based therapies including Solution-Focused, Emotion-Focused, Collaborative, Narrative, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I am trained in and practicing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy which has shown effectiveness in treatment for trauma and PTSD.  EMDR Therapy utilizes imagery and bilateral stimulation while processing traumatic memories in order to assist the brain in resuming its natural healing processes.

I am a certified facilitator of Prepare & Enrich which is a powerful assessment tool for couples at any stage of their relationship to objectively view the complex dynamics of their compatibility and areas for continued growth. I completed my Master of Science degree at Our Lady of the Lake University in Family, Couples, and Individual Psychotherapy and Bachelor of Arts degree at Texas State University in Psychology.
