Step right in! It’s a pleasure to have you here. My name is Micah Harrell, a LPC-Associate here at Healing Pathways of Houston! With me, you’ll find more than just a listening ear— you’ll find a compassionate ally dedicated to your well-being. I’m here to support, embrace, and honor the best version of you! The world is filled with many anxieties, difficult relationships, and negative thoughts and feelings about yourself. Not to mention the constant boundaries we struggle to set each day while trying to manage all our emotions. Add processing trauma to the mix, and there you have it. The messy side of ourselves that we don’t like to show others. How can I help?

I foster a unique relationship with my clients. Feeling that safety and understanding is very important in order to help you become your ideal self. Whether or not you’re introspective, we can work together towards positivity and understanding in your journey.

I work from an integrative therapy approach. What does that even mean? I integrate various elements of different theories into practice including: person-centered, play therapy, family systems, narrative therapy, and expressive arts. I’m a creator, and I feel that emotions are processed through creativity, therefore, expressive arts and sand tray will be used in our time together. I use play therapy and expressive arts with young children and talk therapy and expressive arts for older children (tweens and adolescents) and adults. I feel honored to wake up every day and be able to help others through my passion for therapy and art! Whether you’re an individual seeking personal growth, a family navigating challenges together, or a couple working on your relationship, this therapeutic space is open and welcome to you.

I am a graduate of Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN with a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Play Therapy and Expressive Arts. I received my Bachelor of Art degree from Spelman College in Psychology. I’ve worked extensively with diverse demographics, from children, adolescents, and young adults in residential settings, in-home social services, college counseling centers to adults and seniors in inpatient hospitals. Each person’s journey is unique and together we will find the solutions that work specifically for you.

On a personal note, I am a true Southern girl from Memphis, TN. In my free time, you’ll find me being a vegan foodie— yes that includes eating out, ordering in, and cooking. I’ve been an athlete my entire life, so you can find me anywhere being competitive with friends and family, especially on the tennis court. I always enjoy a good laugh! After all, it is the universal medicine for the soul. There is no better day to create the life you desire than today. Feel free to reach out and schedule a FREE 15-minute consultation! Your decision to take this step towards personal growth is truly inspiring! I’m excited to meet with you soon!
